Praia da Vigia, located at the south of the beach of São Julião and at the north of the beach of Samarra, on the coast of Sintra, is a little-known large sandbank, requested by many naturists.
It’s a hard place to access, with stones that can reach up to 150 meters. It is not monitored and does not have any kind of support team. The sandy area stretches for 1.9 km and, at low tide, it connects with the São Julião beach. The walk begins at Parque das Merendas in S. Julião. We will pass through the beautiful villages of Cortesia and Samarra, the latter overlooking the beach of Samarra, we will walk the entire slope to Praia da Vigia, where we will enter the dazzling landscape.
We will descend at Praia da Vigia and cross part of the beach to the road that leads to the parking lot of Praia da Vigia. From the parking lot we will walk through the typical paths of the village to reach the starting point of the travel.
