This walk lets you discover a little bit more the nature and traditions of Ilha de São Miguel, Azores. It starts at the Furnas parish and it lets you walk around the beautiful Lagoa das Furnas.

This is an easy walk, accessible to everyone along a dirt path, guiding the walker on a trip to discover the extraordinary nature. Along the trail you will find the “Caldeiras da Lagoa”, an area where the locals take advantage of the high temperatures of the soil to make traditional cooking.

The trail continues along the lagoon. Enjoy the serenity of the water and all that surrounding landscape while walking accompanied by the water of the lagoon.

Ahead and on the way back, you will find the church Nossa Senhora das Vitórias, with an architecture that dates back to the nineteenth century, and a the viewpoint of Pico Gaspar, that offers a wonderful perspective of the Furnas parish, where this enjoyable walk ends.
