This is a route along the coast that’s perfect to enjoy the wonderful views.

The route is a stage painted by the blue sea and the golden sands. Praia do Magoito is located at the entrance of Ribeira da Mata, near the town of Magoito at the northwest of Sintra. This is an extensive beach, with golden sands and a turquoise sea. It’s considered one of the most iodized beaches in Europe.

It has numerous rocks between the sand and it is possible to glimpse Cabo da Roca in the distance. Next to the access ramp of the beach there is a fossil dune, classified as a geo-monument. The so-called consolidated dune is one of the most interesting geological elements of the beach, being a natural coastal formation achieved by the accumulation of sand, generated by the joint action of sea and wind.

The beach of Giribeto, in continuation of the sandy area of Magoito, has a small dimension and it’s located at the base of an imposing peak. In the sand, you will be able to see a string of pebbles touching the rough sea.

The return to the beach of Magoito is made by a dirt road that crosses the village of La Tojeira. The way back is along the beach, and it’s usually frequented by fishermen.
